As a consequence of the violent riots led by the far left and illegal Mexican immigrants, a total of 27 people were arrested on Sunday in downtown Los Angeles, United States, according to the announcement made by the Chief of the Police Department (LAPD), Jim McDonnell, during a press conference held at night.
With these new arrests, 56 people have now been detained over the weekend. The violence from the protesters began a few days ago, when the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) carried out numerous raids against illegal immigrants in the area, which triggered a violent response from the left.

McDonnell explained that among the crimes were the throwing of a Molotov cocktail at an officer and the use of a motorcycle to run over a line of officers. Of Sunday's arrests, 17 were carried out by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) while they were removing protesters blocking Highway 101, and the other 10 were made by the LAPD in the downtown area. On Saturday, another 29 people were arrested for disobeying police orders to disperse.
