Víctor Domínguez discusses his new book, 'El Poder Digital,' censorship in Europe, Javier Milei's leadership, and the future of the cultural battle on social media

Víctor Domínguez, popularly known as Wall Street Wolverine, is a Spanish content creator and political analyst who gained notoriety for his videos on economics and geopolitics on YouTube. With more than one million followers on various platforms, he has now become one of the most influential young voices of liberal-conservative thought in the Spanish-speaking world. In his new book, El Poder Digital, he explores the role of social media in the transformation of contemporary politics and the cultural battle against the media establishment.
During an interview with La Derecha Diario, Domínguez addressed topics such as the impact of social media on politics, censorship in Europe, the current situation in Spain under Pedro Sánchez, and the phenomenon of Javier Milei in Argentina.
"Thanks to social media you have a president like the one you have"
When presenting his book, Domínguez highlighted the decisive role that social media played in the emergence of new political forces. "Thanks to social media you have a president like the one you have", he said in reference to Javier Milei. For the author, platforms like X or YouTube "have replaced the old media oligopoly controlled by political power," giving a voice to citizens in the face of traditional media that "did not show reality as it was."
The Spanish creator keeps that the cultural battle has moved to the digital arena and that "a meme can mobilize more than a professional campaign." According to Domínguez, the alternative right understood this paradigm shift better than anyone: "New parties grow thanks to knowing how to use social media, while old politics remains trapped in outdated formats."

Digital censorship and the contrast between Europe and the United States
When asked about freedom of expression in Europe, Domínguez was blunt: "In the Meta environment there is absolute censorship. They took down my account just yesterday". He believes that the purchase of X (formerly Twitter) by Elon Musk "changed the game," and he celebrated that "now freedom on X is real, as it was not before."
The influencer also emphasized the contrast between the United States and Europe: "We are facing a new paradigm: a United States that has decided to embrace freedom under the Trump administration, versus a Europe that remains in censorship and interventionism." He warned: "If a president like Trump can have his social media taken away, any of us can have whatever they want done to us."

Spain and the "ghost of the far right"
When analyzing the political situation in his country, Domínguez targeted Pedro Sánchez's government: "Spain has enormous clientelist networks and a manufactured fear of the far right." He explained that the problem lies in the fact that "the European Union doesn't allow Spain to fall far enough for people to demand deep change."
"In Argentina they had to hit rock bottom to seek an alternative. In Spain that point has not yet been reached," he reflected. However, he believes that change will inevitably come: "People realize that those who talk about progress live off other people's money".

"Milei is more alive than ever"
Domínguez closely followed the Argentine elections and celebrated the performance of the ruling party. "Many had written Milei off, but he is more alive than ever", he asserted. In his analysis, he considered that the Argentine president "banged his fist on the table" after overcoming a narrative crisis and consolidating his leadership.
He also highlighted international support: "Support from the United States will be key to easing the burden on the Argentine people". However, he warned that the government must learn to control the narrative and not allow "the diexcelledsty of professional politicians" to distort the public debate.

Regarding the leadership of the Argentine president, Domínguez was categorical: "The Argentine people have rewarded honesty. He was the first politician to tell the truth: that there was no money and that efforts had to be made." According to him, citizens value authenticity over measured discourse: "People no longer reward the perfect politician, but the authentic one."
The YouTuber compared the country's situation to a medical treatment: "Argentina spent years with palliatives; chemotherapy was needed. Milei is attacking the problem at its root". In his view, if the project is sustained over time, "Argentina has a future and Milei could govern for at least eight years."
"We've moved from political correctness to authenticity"
At the end of the interview, Domínguez stated that El Poder Digital reflects a change of era: "We've moved from the era of political correctness to that of authenticity". According to him, the success of leaders like Trump or Milei is explained by their direct connection with people through social media: "Young people value the approachable politician, who tells the truth, even if it is not perfect."
