The communist governor of the state of Minnesota granted a pardon to an illegal immigrant who raped a 10-year-old girl for 2 years

In an act that has generated national outrage, the communist governor of Minnesota, Tim Walz, along with his pardon board consisting of Attorney General Keith Ellison and Judge Natalie Hudson, granted a pardon to Tou Lue Vang (also referred to as Tue Lue Vang), an illegal immigrant from Laos convicted of repeatedly raping a 10-year-old girl.

This decision, recommended by the Clemency Review Commission of Minnesota on June 10, 2026, is not only a moral scandal but a dangerous precedent that prioritizes foreign criminals over the safety of American children.

Vang, who was about to be deported, saw his removal order threatened by this pardon until the federal government intervened. The facts are chilling. Between 2002 and 2004, Vang repeatedly sexually abused a 10-year-old girl. On one occasion, he tried to bribe her with $10 to keep quiet.

When questioned by the police, he showed no remorse: he justified his crimes by claiming that ''it's a cultural thing. Marrying and having sex with girls as young as 12 years old.'' Additionally, he blamed the victim, demanding that she also be arrested. In 2006, he was convicted of first-degree criminal sexual conduct. An immigration judge from the Department of Justice issued a final deportation order on October 31 of that same year.

Vang entered the United States in California in 1994 and received legal status during the Clinton administration. That status was revoked after his conviction. His profile leaves no doubt: he is a convicted sexual predator who lost any right to remain in the country by severely violating a minor.

Granting him clemency not only ignores the suffering of the victim and the risk he poses to other girls but sends a devastating message: ''sanctuary'' politicians are willing to protect foreign criminals over their own citizens. This repugnant decision reveals a total disconnect of the Democrats from reality and basic justice.

Walz went so far as to describe Vang as a ''critical member of the community'' and a ''contributor'' who creates jobs, falsely referring to him as a ''citizen.'' He claimed that Minnesota would not be safer if he were deported to a country he hasn't visited since childhood. These statements minimized the atrocity of repeatedly violating a 10-year-old girl and attempt to humanize an abuser who tried to buy his victim's silence and blamed the minor.

It is an insult to all American families and especially to victims of child sexual abuse. Protecting someone who sees child abuse as ''a cultural thing'' is neither compassion nor restorative justice; it is criminal negligence on the part of elected officials. This is not an isolated case. In May 2026, the same commission pardoned another illegal Laotian immigrant, Jai Vang, with a history of armed robbery and driving under the influence.

The pattern is clear: Minnesota, under the leadership of Walz and his sanctuary allies, systematically acts to hinder the deportation of serious criminals. These policies not only undermine the rule of law but expose entire communities to avoidable risks.

Reactions from the federal government

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) strongly condemned the decision. Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis stated: ''Governor Tim Walz's decision to pardon an illegal immigrant convicted of child rape so he can remain in our country is repugnant. These are the illegal criminals that he and his sanctuary politicians are protecting.'' The DHS emphasized that the pardon was intended to eliminate the convictions that made Vang removable, thwarting the deportation process.

The decisive intervention came from Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Days before the scheduled deportation, Rubio acted to terminate Vang's legal status in the United States and remove any obstacles created by Walz's pardon.

In statements to Fox News Digital, Rubio was blunt: ''Just weeks ago, a foreign child rapist was released to endanger American children again after receiving a pardon from Governor Tim Walz of Minnesota.''

Rubio recalled the facts: ''Tue Lue Vang admitted to committing atrocious crimes against a 10-year-old girl in Minnesota. He tried to pay his victim for her silence and dismissed his acts of child abuse as 'a minor thing.'' ''Just days before he was scheduled to be deported, the governor of Minnesota pardoned him, freeing him to endanger American families again,'' he lamented. ''Americans should never have to live in fear that foreign sexual predators, protected from deportation by their own elected officials, could endanger them or their children,'' Rubio added.

Thanks to his intervention, Vang was finally removed from the country and no longer poses a threat to any American family. This case exposes the deep failure of sanctuary policies: they prioritize ideology over child safety.

The pardon of Vang was not only a grave mistake but an act of contempt towards the victims and towards the people who expect their leaders to protect the innocent first. The firm action of the federal government and Rubio restores some justice, but the dangerous precedent set by Walz and his board remains as a warning of how far certain policies can go when political agendas take precedence over the protection of the most vulnerable.
