The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) revealed new intelligence information that, according to the Army, demonstrates that Hamas is using sectors of the Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis to interrogate and torture residents of the Gaza Strip.
According to the information released by the IDF, Hamas has reportedly intensified the activities of its internal security agencies in recent months due to a decline in its support among the Gazan population and the fear of losing control over the enclave. To maintain its authority, the organization is resorting to interrogations, threats, and acts of violence against Palestinian residents.
Israeli intelligence specifically points to the Yassin building, located within the outpatient complex of the Nasser Hospital. On its second floor, members of Hamas's Internal Security Forces and military intelligence are reportedly conducting interrogations of residents.
The IDF also identified another building within the hospital complex that is being used for the same purpose. The structure previously functioned as hospital offices, then as a cafeteria, and later as a prayer room. According to Israel, it currently operates as a Hamas interrogation center.

Testimonies collected by Israel also indicate a permanent presence of armed Hamas members in various areas of the hospital, some of them with their faces covered. The Israeli Army claims that these activities create fear among residents and endanger both patients and medical staff.
The accusations add to previous allegations regarding Hamas's use of the Nasser Hospital. In February 2026, Doctors Without Borders temporarily suspended its non-essential medical activities in the complex after reporting the presence of armed and masked men, intimidation, and arrests of patients.
Israel asserts that the case of Nasser is part of a broader practice whereby Hamas uses hospitals, schools, and other civilian facilities for military and internal security activities.
According to the IDF, this type of use of medical infrastructure constitutes a violation of international law and directly exposes the Gazan civilian population.
“In the fear of losing control over the Gaza Strip, Hamas exploits hospitals, schools, and other civilian facilities for its own purposes,” stated the Israeli Army, which accused the organization of harming residents precisely in the spaces intended to provide them protection and essential services.
