Nayib Bukele went all out against the Mexican government for its security strategy.
The president of El Salvador expressed on social media his feelings about the situation Mexico is going through
Nayib Bukele the president of one of the world's safest countries went all out against the government of Sheinbaum for its failed security strategy.
Since during the week the security measures adopted by both countries have been compared to which he replied:
"I've seen many posts like this and, honestly, I don't understand the obsession with El Salvador."

Also from his X account, he questioned: Why can't they solve the security issue in just one state?
"Solve the security issue in one state first, then in the next, and so on, until covering those 28 states."

He also added that 28 of the 32 states that Mexico has, have a similar or smaller population than El Salvador.
Why, then, can't they solve the security issue in just one state with fewer inhabitants than El Salvador, having the resources of a country with 130 million inhabitants?

El Salvador as a model to follow in security matters
Last year, the Global Security Report by Gallup Consulting placed El Salvador among the world's safest countries for the first time.
They mention that 88% of its inhabitants feel safe when walking at night in the Central American country.

Thanks to the country becoming a police state, combating gangs, it has made El Salvador safer.
They currently have one of the lowest homicide rates in the Western Hemisphere.
Mexico and a completely different scenario
Now let's look at the case of Mexico which, unlike El Salvador, is one of the most insecure countries in the region due to its high rates of homicides and disappearances.
For example, adding up all the homicides during the governments of the 4T until March 2025, the figure is 213,257 in total.

Meanwhile, during AMLO's government, 52,000 people went missing, which are alarming figures.
It is for all the above reasons that Mexico is among the 5 most insecure countries in Spanish America.
