The road company seeks to adjust the rates before the start of 2026, and it will strongly impact tourism activity

Caminos de las Sierras (CdS) has formalized a request to update its toll rates, estimating an increase of around 30% for the Córdoba Access Network (RAC). The measure could directly impact users starting next January 1, seeking to match operating costs with projected inflation. Internal sources from the provincial government, the exclusive owner of the concessionaire, confirmed the imminent submission of the new pricing scheme to the regulatory body.
The company has already completed the necessary calculations and the file is ready to be sent to the Public Services Regulatory Agency. Upon submission of the documentation, the standard regulatory process will begin, which includes technical evaluation and the mandatory call for a public hearing. Once these formal steps are completed, final authorization of the new rates will proceed, which will impact all points of the road network in Córdoba.
This rate increase is justified by the application of an official polynomial formula that is regularly published by the Directorate of Statistics and Census of the Mediterranean province. The Cost Variation Coefficient (CVC) weighs the evolution of public works, the regional CPI, and the official dollar exchange rate to establish the necessary adjustment. The accumulated variation in the CVC between January and October of this year has already reached 22.5%, supporting the need for the adjustment.

Price and rate projection
With additional estimates of 2.5% for November and a similar percentage for December, the annual increase would be close to 29%, in line with the company's request. This percentage requested by CdS seeks to maintain the purchasing power of the rate and keep pace with the general inflation projected for the end of the fiscal year. Although the adjustments could be implemented just four days after their formal publication, the concessionaire usually delays their application.
The last adjustment applied to tolls was made last January, raising the flat rate for cash payments to $2,000 per pass. If Ersep approves the requested 30% increase, the base price for category 2 (automobiles) would rise from $1,300 to about $1,690 per vehicle. The surcharge for manual payment, which is currently $2,000, would increase to approximately $2,600, including the necessary rounding.
Users who use the electronic toll system will also experience changes in their monthly payments following the possible approval of the new rate schedule. Those who currently pay $1,050 for each of the first 50 passes of the month would pay around $1,365 for the same number of crossings. Likewise, drivers who make between 51 and 80 monthly passes, with a current cost of $910, will have to pay about $1,180 under the new pricing structure.
