Carmen Barbieri spoke in recent days about her health condition that kept her resting for several days and raised concerns among her family and the public. The host experienced an episode of bronchospasm, meningitis, and a flu with a fever that reached 40 degrees. The doctors evaluated the possibility of admitting her to the hospital, but ultimately decided she should continue her treatment at home.
Since last Sunday, the journalist has been in bed. “I have been in bed since last Sunday and they wanted to admit me on Monday,” she recounted. She received medical clearance on Sunday, but on Monday morning she wanted to return to her work routine too soon.
That same Monday, when she was about to get into the car to go to work, she suffered a fainting spell. She did not lose consciousness, but had to return home and lie down again. For that reason, she also missed Tuesday's recordings of her show.
Carmen has been struggling with respiratory difficulties for years due to a bronchial issue. This condition makes any respiratory illness more complicated and prolongs recovery times. Therefore, strict rest was essential this time.
The return to the air and how she feels now
On Thursday, October 29, in a conversation with TN Show, the host confirmed that she felt better and planned to appear on her show Con Carmen, which airs on El Nueve. “Today I am going to work. I am waiting for the doctor now, who had already given me the clearance,” she explained.
