After hiding them for years, Democrats want Trump to release the Epstein files

The request will supposedly be formalized this week, although it is not expected to result in a Congressional vote

After  hiding them for more than a decade, and after two former presidents from his own party refused to release them during their terms, Democratic Party representatives now want Trump to release the court documents from the Jeffrey Epstein case.

The request will be formalized before the United States House of Representatives next week, according to left-wing congressman Ro Khanna, who has held his seat since 2017.

A  similar proposal has emerged from Democratic congressman Marc Veasey of Texas, which, according to its author, seeks to "disclose" the secrets kept in the files of the financier who was found dead in his cell in 2019 in an apparent "suicide."

It is highly likely that these initiatives are merely testimonial submissions to gain media attention and not legislative amendments that would result in a Congressional vote.

Trump speaks out

Alerted by the growing internal debate within his party regarding this court case, President Donald Trump spoke out next weekend on the matter on his social media.

On Truth Social,  the president criticized the fact that Democrats are now suddenly very concerned about learning the details of the billionaire's trafficking network, emphasizing that they actively worked to prevent the truth about the case from coming to light.

"Why didn't these Radical Left lunatics release the Epstein files? If there was anything there that could've hurt the MAGA movement, why didn't they use it?" Trump asked.

Democrats protected Epstein

In 2023, when Democrats controlled the Senate and the White House, the party's caucusrefused to consider a Republican initiative that would have revealed the names of Epstein's clients.

Pro-Trump senator Marsha Blackburn had submitted a request for a court subpoena that would have given the Senate access to the records of people who flew with the financial magnate, but the initiative was blocked by Democratic senator Dick Durbin.

Durbin, who at that time led the powerful Senate Judiciary Committee, personally took charge of stopping any such proposal.

"They simply don't want to have any conversation about Epstein's estate so that the names of everyone who participated in his trafficking network can be known," the senator lamented at the time.

In 2020, an exclusive photo published by British tabloid Daily Mail resurfaced, showing former president Bill Clintonreceiving a suggestive massage from Chaunte Davies, who testified to being a victim of Epstein's trafficking network. The photograph dates back to 2002.
