Argentina's U-17 National Team started their participation in the Qatar 2025 World Cup on the right foot, by defeating Belgium 3-2 in an exciting match held at field 2 of Aspire Zone in Doha.
The beginning was balanced and strategic. Both teams prioritized order and control of the midfield: Belgium tried to attack down the flanks, while Argentina sought to combine through the center. The first clear chance came in the 24th minute, when Uriel Ojeda won the ball on the left and tried a long-range shot, but goalkeeper Brughmans replied confidently.
Argentina's 1-0 lead came in the 35th minute, after a series of rebounds in the Belgian box that Ramiro Tulian capitalized on with a precise shot from the penalty spot.
However, before halftime, the European team found the equalizer: Arthur De Kimpe took advantage of a mistake in the Albiceleste defense and finished across goal past Alber Castelau, sealing the 1-1 scoreline.
Just after the second half began, Belgium struck again. A poor defensive clearance led to an assist from Camara for Stan Naert, who scored the 2-1 and forced Placente to make substitutions in an attempt to turn the result around.
