The Uruguayan forward suffered a new muscle discomfort in his right psoas, and his return appears to have been postponed again
Injuries won't give Edinson Cavani a break. The Uruguayan forward, who had rejoined group training, suffered another muscle discomfort and has been practically ruled out for Boca's match against Barracas Central next Saturday.
According to various club media reports, the 38-year-old striker finished Tuesday's practice with pain and underwent medical tests that confirmed the injury. The problem has once again been located in the psoas of his right leg, an area that had already caused him complications in recent weeks.

Cavani, who was on the substitutes' bench but didn't come on during the 5-0 win over Newell’s, is facing another physical setback that will force him to miss his fourth consecutive match. His last start was on September 14, in the 1-1 draw against Rosario Central at the Gigante de Arroyito. Since then, he has missed matches against Central Córdoba, Defensa y Justicia, and La Lepra.
The coaching staff led by Claudio Úbeda is now aiming for the Matador to be fit for the Superclásico against River, scheduled for early November. Meanwhile, the forward line will continue to feature Miguel Merentiel and Milton Giménez, the duo that recently excelled at La Bombonera.
Although the Uruguayan has shown glimpses of his quality when he has been able to play, his present is once again marked by injuries. The club is confident that this time the recovery will be definitive and that Cavani will be available for the most anticipated match of the semester.
