Mayor Fernando Rambaldi reaffirmed his commitment to the residents of La Calera by managing definitive solutions regarding the water issue. In a recent interview with Canal 10, the official explained that he is working actively to solve the problems in water infrastructure. His central objective is to guarantee the safety of the homes and the quality of life of the families in the neighborhoods affected by breaks in a main pipeline.
The municipal administration focused its attention on a pipeline built in 1910 that is shared with EPEC and requires urgent modernization. The system supplies raw water to the water treatment plant, but its age causes leaks that impact the local urban area. Rambaldi detailed that the efforts aim to carry out the complete replacement of the pipeline to avoid greater inconveniences for the population.
The constant leaks cause dampness and cracks in the private homes in the Industrial and Stoecklin neighborhoods of that locality. The municipality permanently repairs Sucre Street, but the asphalt gives way under the volume of water that emerges through the failures in the provincial pipe. Rambaldi urged the execution of the definitive replacement using the international loan of 75 million dollars that was already approved for that purpose.
