The city of Córdoba's La Calera is preparing to host the sixth edition of the National Lomito Festival this Friday the 20th and Saturday the 21st in Icardi Park. This gastronomic and cultural event will feature more than 50 food trucks and contests to reward the best versions of the classic local dish. This year's event stands out for a paradigm shift in its financing, seeking full self-sustainability without resorting to the public treasury.
Fernando Rambaldi defended the management of the festival, stating that the resources that finance basic services must not be diverted to mass entertainment. Under the efficiency logic promoted by the national government, the organization will be funded through sponsorships, advertising, and the sale of food and beverages. This administrative decision represents a milestone for the town, since the municipality will not waste residents' money.
The price of general admission was set at 8,000 pesos for visitors, while residents have a 2-for-1 benefit to attend. Rambaldi confirmed that these prices are significantly lower than those of other regional festivals, always prioritizing household finances. The fees for the placement of 50 food stalls plus sponsorship ensure that the contribution voucher independently supports the artistic line-up.

Responsible management and major local musical acts
The first day, Friday the 20th, will feature prominent artists such as Valentina Márquez, Desakata2, Pachi Herrera, and Uriel Allende. El Fer Martínez and Ta' Copao will also take to the main stage to round out a cultural offering designed to attract the entire Córdoba region. Deputy Secretary of Culture Fabián Torres emphasized that this self-caused revenue model makes it possible to offer artistic quality without compromising the municipality's finances.
For Saturday the 21st, the star performances by Jorge Rojas, Magui Olave, La Callejera, Misael Miranda, Ignacio Maldonado, and the group Discman are expected. Tickets can be purchased digitally on the official website or in person at the Pedroni Museum, Punto Muni, and the municipal building. This model of private investment and austere management demonstrates that it is possible to promote tourism without fiscally suffocating local taxpayers.
The National Lomito Festival is consolidating itself as a brand of identity that generates genuine economic activity for merchants in the urban area. By eliminating direct state funding for leisure, La Calera is aligning itself with the rational spending policies promoted by the national government. Residents will be able to enjoy a high-level event knowing that their municipal tax money is allocated exclusively to improving the city and is not being wasted.
