La Calera is preparing to experience a major gastronomic celebration with the official launch of the 6th edition of the National Lomito Festival. The event will take place on February 20 and 21 at the Luis Domingo Icardi Grounds with the participation of prominent figures. This celebration seeks to establish itself on the national schedule by attracting thousands of families who enjoy music and excellent mountain cuisine.
After the success of the 2024 edition, which brought together 50,000 people, the current organization is doubling down with a comprehensive security deployment. The Secretary of Culture and Sports, Fabián Torres, confirmed the presence of 50 food trucks along with renovated playgrounds for the enjoyment of the youngest citizens. The main objective is to surpass previous attendance indicators while guaranteeing a comfortable experience for each attendee.
The grounds will open at 7:00 p.m. with local shows at 9:00 p.m. and Canal 10 broadcasting at 10:00 p.m., with tickets sold through Tiquialo at a price of $9,200. At the door the cost will be $9,500, although residents of La Calera have access to a $9,200 voucher with a 2-for-1 benefit if they buy at municipal points. Local retirees have a similar 2-for-1 promotion for $7,500, ensuring that all sectors of the community attend this major event.

The mayor Fernando Rambaldi led the official presentation, linking this event to the ambitious strategic program called Vivir La Calera. The leader emphasized that tourism is a municipal policy that is already yielding concrete results, such as the one thousand daily visitors that Laguna Azul receives. This comprehensive vision seeks to transform the city into a permanent attraction hub that energizes the real economy of all commercial sectors.
In line with the fiscal order of the national government, Rambaldi defended the need for this festival to be fully self-sustaining. The municipal administration aims for the cost to the public treasury to be zero through ticket sales and contributions from private sponsors. Under this premise of administrative responsibility, residents' money is protected so that it is invested exclusively in infrastructure works.
"As mayor, I can't take taxpayers' money that is used to fix streets and put it solely into a festival," stated the municipal chief. The challenge set for the future is to extend the duration of the celebration to four consecutive nights in order to enhance the reach of the national event. This efficient management mindset ensures that mass events do not become a deficit burden on the city's public accounts.

Top-tier national artistic line-up
The line-up for this 2026 edition includes figures such as Jorge Rojas, Valentina Márquez, and the powerful cuarteto rhythm of the group DesaKTa2. Pachi Herrera, Magui Olave, and La Callejera will also take to the main stage to deliver a diverse show that combines folklore with popular genres. The official opening will feature prominent television coverage, allowing La Calera's prestige to reach households throughout Argentina.
A essential pillar is the space granted to the five winners of the Pre-Lomito, who will proudly represent the enormous local artistic talent.
