The departure of Secretary Carlos Giordana prompted an administrative reform that concentrates areas and eliminates hierarchical positions

The health portfolio of Córdoba made an integral transformation of its organizational chart official this Wednesday after the resignation of Secretary Carlos Giordana was confirmed. The now former official cited strictly personal reasons and the impact of accumulated wear and tear to justify his withdrawal from public activity. After leaving his political role, the physician will resume his care duties as a cardiologist within the professional staff of Hospital Misericordia.
Together with the secretary's departure, the termination of Sebastián Faule's duties also took place; he had been leading the Undersecretariat of Hospital Management. Minister Ricardo Pieckenstainer took advantage of this juncture to implement a restructuring that reduces the number of departments with direct authority. This decision responds to the need to optimize operational resources and streamline decision-making processes within the health system.
Giordana had gained prominence as the main official spokesperson during the investigations into irregularities that occurred at Maternidad Provincial. His administration was marked by public exposure in labor union conflicts arising from the termination of temporary contracts in various care centers. With his departure, the Ministry seeks to begin a new stage of work under renewed technical leadership that prioritizes service efficiency.

New leadership and reduction of bureaucracy
The new hierarchical structure determined that the number of ministerial secretariats would be reduced from a total of 5 to only 3 active departments. Gustavo Klein was appointed as the new head of the Secretariat of Health and Preventive Medicine, unifying two areas that previously operated separately. Meanwhile, Claudio Faner will continue performing his current duties as head of the Secretariat of Administration and Legal Affairs without operational changes.
Pía Guidetti will assume a greater share of administrative power by centralizing under her exclusive control the areas of Mental Health and also Addictions. This unification of authorities seeks to address problems related to substance use and mental pathologies in a much more comprehensive and coordinated way in the territory. The measure is aligned with the mandate "to be more efficient and reduce state bureaucracy" that Governor Martín Llaryora requested from his ministers.
This deep reorganization is coupled with other moves that were previously made, such as the inclusion of Liliana Montero in the General Secretariat. It was also recalled that Victoria Flores was recently transferred; she left the Environment portfolio to join a new secretariat in Education. The changes confirm the trend of the Córdoba administration to reformulate its ministries in order to adapt to this year's budgetary demands.
