An event that projects Argentine water skiing onto an international stage
During the presentation, the vice president of the Argentine Federation of Water Ski and Wakeboard, Iván Ahumada, highlighted the impact of the tournament. "This World Championship represents a huge step for Argentine water skiing; it's a unique opportunity to showcase the work that has been done and for our young people to meet the world's best at home," he stated. Admission will be free and open to the public until April 3; in addition to the official competitions, there will be exhibitions, recreational activities, and a gastronomic area for attendees.
The organization highlighted the effort that made it possible to consolidate a project of this scale in the heart of the valley. Lago Ahumada is the result of a decade of sustained work by families and athletes from Villa Dolores. That commitment transformed a regional dream into modern infrastructure open to competitors from different countries.
The communicator and general organizer of the World Championship, Gabriela Mauvecin, underscored the significance of the event, stating: "This is the first Under-17 World Championship to be held in Argentina and, after many years of quiet work, the excitement is immense and the goal is for many people to discover the professionalism of the sport. There will be activities with sponsors, shows, sunsets, adaptive skiing, and many more activities in a unique setting." Local authorities and young athletes supported the announcement, consolidating institutional backing.
With a body of water designed for high-level competition and a mountainous landscape that enhances each day, Córdoba is preparing for an unforgettable week. The arrival of youth delegations will bring visibility to the development of water skiing in the country.
