Iveco formally presented its most sophisticated heavy vehicle at the industrial complex it owns in Córdoba Capital. Thanks to the new path of economic confidence that the country is experiencing, the company is betting on this investment to strengthen its export profile. Marcio Querichelli, the company's president for Latin America, emphasized that this productive milestone is a major bet in the face of complex contexts.
The S-Way's technological leap allows the Córdoba factory to stop supplying only the domestic market and to compete in international markets. This unit incorporates Euro VI technology to improve emission standards, surpassing the Euro V standard that currently applies in Argentina. The local production of this truck of more than 16 toneladas (35,274 pounds) demonstrates that macroeconomic stability encourages long-range industrial projects.
Currently, the facility assembles between 270 and 300 units per month, directly employing about 450 qualified collaborators. The units have between 37% and 40% of components manufactured in the country, a figure that climbs to 80% at the level of regional integration. The plant sustains, at the national level, one thousand direct jobs and works in coordination with a network of 500 suppliers that boost the economy.

Productive potential and engines destined for international markets
The local plant has an installed capacity to manufacture 15,000 units per year, currently operating at one third of its true maximum potential. Since its founding in 1969, this production center has managed to assemble a total of 135,000 units destined for freight transport. According to official estimates, the indirect employment caused by the automaker multiplies by five the number of its own workers.
The site also houses the FPT factory, a division that has exported 70% of the engines it produces to various markets for 14 years. With a capacity of 36,000 pieces per year, this area has already surpassed the historic mark of 243,000 engines manufactured entirely in Córdoba. This vertical integration ensures that the Argentine subsidiary consolidates itself as an indispensable strategic link for transportation throughout South America.
"Few are making investments at the level that Iveco is carrying out," Querichelli, the executive, stressed during the launch event for the model. With this renewal, the company seeks to strengthen its commercial leadership by taking advantage of economic openness and improved competitiveness in the private sector. The arrival of the S-Way marks the beginning of a stage of greater efficiency that benefits the entire metalworking value chain in the country.
