The shopping mall Paseo del Jockey confirms its leadership in the southern area of Córdoba by adding a strategic building expansion of 8,000 m2. The project, managed by the operator YMK SA, reaches a total of 39,000 m2 and aims to open the spaces between March and April 2026.
The expansion focuses on entertainment and gastronomy, including 6 movie theaters that will offer 4D technology to the public in the area. Germán Gayraud, the company's general manager, anticipated that the largest theater will feature distinctive amenities for moviegoers. The commercial proposal adds 18 rental units that will allow the arrival of between 10 and 15 new brands in this developing sector.
Although negotiations are still underway, industry sources suggest the possible arrival of KFC and the local chain Betos to the food court. The movie theater complex will be operated by a company with a national presence that already manages theaters in Boulevard Shopping in Buenos Aires.
La ampliación se centra en el entretenimiento y la gastronomía incluyendo 6 salas de cine que ofrecerán tecnología 4D al público de la zona.
Investment in a context of openness
Gayraud emphasized that the current economic model with greater openness favors competition and expands the offerings of international brands. The Brazilian chain Renner acts as an anchor store and has successfully adapted to the consumption model with high stock availability. The operator is betting that private consumption will pick up during 2026, accompanying the constant growth in visitors and revenue at the mall.
The construction keeps the aesthetics of the current building, combining indoor and outdoor spaces on Elías Yofre Street to the south. The underground parking lot already covers the entire surface area of the project and will enable a new direct entrance from the movie theater sector.
Paseo del Jockey opened in 2017 and managed to establish itself in an area that grew in population, overcoming the tough challenges of the pandemic period. This new stage completes the master plan initially designed, consolidating the complex as the consumption hub for the entire southern area. The comprehensive project has helped generate major commercial development on the surrounding streets, increasing the value of neighboring real estate properties.
Gayraud destacó que el actual modelo económico con mayor apertura favorece la competencia y amplía la oferta de las marcas internacionales.
