The streamer questioned AFA's financial management, the tournament formats, and the level of refereeing

After the embarrassing episode of the title gifted to Rosario Central, Davoo Xeneize re-entered the debate about the organization of Argentine football and launched strong criticism against the management of Claudio "Chiqui" Tapia at the head of AFA. In one of his statements, he focused on financial prizes, the tournament format, and the lack of investment at the institutional level.

"Argentine football gives a total of one million dollars to the champion of Argentine football. Do you know where that million dollars comes from? From CONMEBOL," Davoo began, pointing out that AFA doesn't contribute its own funds to reward the champion teams.

The creator detailed that this money comes from the economic support program that the South American entity distributes among the ten member federations. "AFA doesn't give a single peso to the champion of Argentine football," he insisted. As a recent example, he cited Platense, champion of the 2024 Copa de la Liga, which received 500 thousand dollars, all provided by the South American federation. "It's nothing for a champion team of Argentine football," he concluded.

In that same vein, the comparison with Brazil was inevitable. "The champion there takes 14 million," he stated, to show the magnitude of the economic gap between both countries. "I'm not saying we should match Brazil, but it's so people understand how much AFA itself contributes for Argentine football to progress," he added.

In addition to pointing out the prize for the League champion, Davoo criticized the amount allocated to the winner of the Copa Argentina: "They don't put money into the Copa Argentina champion, who gets 65 thousand dollars. It doesn't even reach 100 thousand."

For the streamer, this lack of investment is part of a broader problem that affects the development of the sport at the local level. He pointed out that the competition format is poorly structured, mentioned that there are "too many teams," and stated that the refereeing is "terrible."

He emphasized that all this contrasts with the sporting success achieved by the national team in recent years. "Argentina became world champion three years ago. We all know the amount of money you can receive if you are world champion." From that perspective, he questioned the destination of those revenues and the use of resources within the structure of Argentine football.

Finally, the streamer concluded: "Many things are being done wrong in AFA at the sporting level and at the club level." His intervention, quickly amplified on social media, reignited a discussion that runs through Argentine football: the gap between the income caused and what clubs ultimately receive in an increasingly complex and disorderly context of Argentine football.
