The Government agreed on a new salary increase for domestic employment. The increase will be 3% and will be paid in two installments of 1.5% in February and March 2026.
In addition, an extraordinary bonus of up to $20,000 was established, which will be paid in both months according to the weekly working hours. The agreement was defined by the National Commission for Work in Private Homes.

How the increase for domestic workers will work
The increase will be applied to current wages. It will be divided into two cumulative installments.
- 1.5% in February 2026.
- An additional 1.5% in March 2026.
The agreement was reached at the meeting held at the Secretariat of Labor, which reports to the Ministry of Human Capital. It will be official once it is published in the Official Gazette.
Extraordinary bonus: how much is paid according to hours
An extraordinary bonus was also agreed for February and March. The amount varies according to the number of hours worked.
- Up to 12 weekly hours: $8,000.
- Between 12 and 16 hours: $11,500.
- More than 16 hours: $20,000.

With live-out arrangement: $3,751.59 per hour and $459,265.69 monthly. With live-in arrangement: $4,100.04 per hour and $509,632.55 monthly.
