The son of Jair Bolsonaro was even more direct in stating that any sentence issued without respect for legal due process is null. According to his argument, the real objective of the process would be to prevent his electoral participation and exclude him from Brazilian public life.

“That is why the true objective of this nonsensical trial is only one: to remove my name from the elections,” Eduardo Bolsonaro expressed, in a phrase that summarizes his reading of the ruling. The leader directly linked his situation to Brazil's political future and supported the candidacy of his brother Flávio Bolsonaro, who appears as the main political figure ahead of the upcoming elections.

“I have confidence in the restoration of Brazilian democracy with the victory of Flávio Bolsonaro,” Eduardo stated, and maintained that this victory would allow hundreds of exiles to finally return to their country, thus concluding his statement to the press.

“Moraes may not like it, but he cannot choose when to follow them,” the former congressman stated, referring to the legal procedures that, he claimed, were not respected. He also accused him of acting as “both victim and judge” in the same case, a situation that, in his view, once again exposes Brazil's institutional deterioration to the world.

Eduardo Bolsonaro spoke publicly after the news of the conviction against him by the Brazilian dictatorship and denounced a serious violation of due process. Through a statement published on X, the son of former president Jair Bolsonaro claimed that he learned of the judicial decision through the press and asserted that he was never formally summoned in the manner prescribed by law.

“I am aware, once again through the press, that supposedly the STF has formed a majority to convict me of some crime that I am unaware of,” Eduardo Bolsonaro stated at the beginning of his message. He then emphasized that, so far, he has not been regularly notified and is still awaiting a summons by letter rogatory, a mechanism used in international processes when a person resides outside the country.

The Bolsonarist leader, who currently lives in the United States, pointed out the contradiction of the Brazilian Supreme Court and local media. He explained that his address in U.S. territory is publicly known, to the extent that Brazilian journalists managed to locate him, film him, and show up at his residence. “To send journalists, they know where I am; to fulfill the legal due process, they claim not to know,” he denounced.

Eduardo maintained that knowing an accusation through news reports does not replace a valid legal summons, nor the guarantees provided by Brazilian legislation and the international agreements signed by Brazil. At that point, he launched a harsh accusation against the communist supreme judge Alexandre de Moraes, a central figure in the judicial persecution against the right.
