The ultra-Kirchnerist mayor of Leones, Fabián Francioni, was involved in a violent and ridiculous outburst when he publicly insulted President Javier Milei. The municipal chief called the head of state a "clown" after it became known that he was invited to the National Wheat Festival that will be held in February. The possible visit of the libertarian leader unleashed the fury of the K official, who doesn't tolerate the office of someone who thinks differently.
The formal invitation was sent by Club Leones and arranged by Senator Carmen Álvarez Rivero to bring the government closer. From the Casa Rosada's inner circle, people admit that there are chances that Milei will attend the productive event, although there is no confirmation. The Kirchnerist mayor did not take long to show his authoritarian streak, announcing that he will not comply with the institutional protocol.
Francioni stated that, for him, "Milei politically doesn't exist," completely ignoring the massive support that he received in the last 2023 elections. He confirmed that he will refuse to receive him if he finally decides to travel to the city. The mayor said that he doesn't plan to appear in the official photo, showing contempt for the figure of the head of state elected by 70% of the city in 2023.

The reality of the ballot boxes
Francioni's tantrum clashes head-on with the reality of the ballot boxes, where La Libertad Avanza swept the last elections with 46.61% of the votes. The local Peronism suffered a historic defeat, falling far behind with barely 26.82%, which explains the nervousness of the K leader. Francioni governs a city that turned its back on the populist model to massively embrace the ideas of freedom and change.
The K official called his own neighbors simpletons for voting for Milei. Francioni exposed his clientelist mentality by criticizing the fact that people choose merit but still demand basic services that the municipality must provide. The mayor can't stand that society has matured and no longer trades its vote for the handouts of the current traditional politics.

This attack adds to the threats from the K mayor of Cosquín Raúl Cardinali, who warned that his city is not friendly to the President. Córdoba's Kirchnerism is seeking to block Milei's contact with the interior, which has given so much support to the President at the ballot box. Francioni blames the Nation for the lack of funds but doesn't hesitate to tighten the neighbors' pockets to sustain political spending.
