End of the saga: Keylor Navas is leaving Newell's and will play for Pumas UNAM
The Costa Rican goalkeeper forced his departure after six months at the club, and Esteban Andrada emerges as a possible replacement
After several back-and-forths in this transfer window, Keylor Navas will finally leave Newell's. La Lepra accepted the latest offer from Pumas UNAM, and the Costa Rican goalkeeper, who pushed to force his departure, will become a new addition to the Mexican team.
This way, Navas's time in Argentine soccer ended prematurely. The former Real Madrid player had arrived in Rosario earlier this year to play in the Torneo Apertura, where Newell's failed to advance to the round of 16.

The last sign of his departure came in the 2-1 defeat against Banfield at the Marcelo Bielsa stadium. Although he was expected to start, the goalkeeper asked to be a substitute as a protest so that Pumas's offer would be accepted.
In this context, Cristian Fabbiani, coach of the Rosario team, removed him from the bench and Williams Barlacina started. "On Monday or Tuesday I'm going to hold a press conference. Right now I want to talk about the match," Fabbiani said after the game.

With Navas already packed, Esteban Andrada emerges as an option to guard the rojinegro goal. "Ogro" had contacted the current Rayados de Monterrey goalkeeper a few days ago to learn about his situation, although the interest did not progress at the time because everything pointed to Keylor staying.
However, with the departure confirmed, negotiations for the former Boca could resume. Although the Argentine transfer window closes on July 24, Newell's has until August 31 because this is an international transfer. Additionally, Monterrey signed Santiago Mele, which would make it easier for Andrada to return to the country after four years in Mexico.

Another candidate to replace Keylor is Sergio Chiquito Romero, who is completely sidelined at Boca due to his injuries and after the arrival of Agustín Marchesín.
