The order from the agency's director, Kash Patel, comes after it was revealed earlier this week that the Democratic prosecutor spied on the former president and Republican senators

The FBI has fired the agents and dissolved the CR-15 squad that worked for Democratic prosecutor Jack Smith, just one day after it was revealed that the private communications and phone calls of several Republicans had been tracked during Joe Biden's administration.
"We are cleaning up a sick temple, the result of three decades, identifying the rot, removing those who politicized law enforcement and those who do not meet the standards of this mission, while restoring the FBI's integrity. I promised reforms and I intend to deliver them," said the agency's director, Kash Patel, to Fox News.
Patel added on his X account that "transparency is important and accountability is essential." The FBI's deputy director, Dan Bongino, complemented these statements with a message for the public: "We promised you transparency and accountability. We will continue to fulfill those promises. You deserve something better."

Biden ordered surveillance on Trump and Republican senators
The CR-15 squad was the public corruption unit of the FBI's Washington field office. This squad was the law enforcement arm that helped former special prosecutor Jack Smith investigate and spy on then-opposition leader Donald Trump.
Yesterday, it was revealed that the Democratic prosecutor tracked the private communications and phone calls of nearly a dozen Republican senators as part of his investigation against Trump, whom Smith held responsible for the Capitol riots that occurred on January 6, 2021.
The current president reacted to this scoop this morning on his social media, harshly criticizing the former judicial official. "Deranged Jack Smith was caught red-handed. A true scoundrel!!!" Trump said.
The document released on Monday alleges that Smith and his "Arctic Frost" team tracked the phone calls of eight Republican senators and one representative. By conducting this type of surveillance, Biden's White House could see which numbers they were calling, where the calls originated, and to which location they were headed
