With a solid performance, the Argentine managed to climb five positions, finishing 13th after starting 18th, while McLaren continues to fall behind in the competition

Franco Colapinto had an uneventful performance at the challenging street circuit of Monaco, where he finished 13th after starting from the 18th position. The victory went to the British driver Lando Norris (McLaren), followed by the Monegasque Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) and the Australian Oscar Piastri (McLaren).

Despite having a difficult start to the weekend, with relegated results in practice and qualifying, the Argentine driver managed a good comeback thanks to his consistency and competitive pace. On a track that historically makes overtaking difficult due to its narrowness and the current size of the cars, Colapinto advanced five positions, showing composure and skill.

Meanwhile, his teammate at Alpine, the Frenchman Pierre Gasly, was out of the race in the early laps after an incident with the Japanese driver Yuki Tsunoda (Red Bull) in the section following the iconic tunnel. Another who also had to retire was the Spaniard Fernando Alonso, affected by a mechanical problem in his Aston Martin.

Regarding the championship battle, Norris's victory was crucial to close the gap with the leader Oscar Piastri. After this event, the British driver is now just three points behind his McLaren teammate.

Meanwhile, Max Verstappen was leading the race until the last lap, but he crossed the finish line in fourth position due to the mandatory pit stop. Although he left some valuable points on the track, the Dutchman remains in the title fight, although he is now 25 points behind the leader.

In addition to those already mentioned, on the always challenging Monaco circuit, characterized by its precision, points were also scored by Lewis Hamilton (Ferrari), Isack Hadjar (Racing Bulls), Esteban Ocon (Haas), Liam Lawson (Racing Bulls), Alexander Albon (Williams), and Carlos Sainz Jr. (Williams).

The next event on the calendar will be the Spanish Grand Prix, to be held next weekend at the Barcelona-Catalunya circuit. It will be a new opportunity for Colapinto to continue gaining experience and learning, while the championship battle remains intense.
