Formula 1: In case Franco Colapinto doesn't perform, Alpine would already have a replacement
A European media outlet put forward the name of a driver who could take the Argentine's place if he doesn't meet Briatore's expectations
Franco Colapinto was the only highlight for Alpine in the Monaco Grand Prix; however, from Europe, the name of another driver began circulating as a possible alternative.
According to reports from Sky Sports, Mick Schumacher, son of the legendary Michael, appears as an option for the Anglo-French team if Colapinto doesn't meet expectations. This contrasts with what Flavio Briatore stated in Imola: "If he drives fast, scores points, and doesn't crash, he has no race limits".

The version released by the British outlet increases the pressure on the Argentine driver, especially considering the connection Schumacher keeps with Alpine, in addition to the historic relationship between Briatore and Michael.
"Mick has more experience than Franco Colapinto. He would definitely be a candidate if Colapinto doesn't deliver", stated Timo Glock, former Formula 1 driver and current Sky analyst.

"Mick is still learning. In the WEC (World Endurance Championship), he is always the fastest of the three drivers who share his car. So he is definitely an option!", Glock emphasized.
Schumacher already had his stint in Formula 1 during the 2021 and 2022 seasons, in which he competed in 42 Grands Prix. He only scored 12 points, without achieving podiums, poles, or fastest laps with Haas. The lack of results and several mistakes led to the termination of his contract with the American team.
The other alternatives
Although Schumacher remains one of the favorites for a potential replacement, other names are also being considered, such as the Mexican Sergio Pérez and the young Estonian talent Paul Aron, Colapinto's teammate.
Although Checo is not participating in the current season of the top category, over the years he has demonstrated that he is a driver with great technique, which could carry weight in Alpine's decision. Meanwhile, the outstanding performance of Aron in Formula 2 has attracted the team's interest as a bet for the future.
