During his presentation, the official defined soccer as "the most democratic sport" and stated that the next World Cup has as its central objective "uniting the world." In that context, he once again expressed his support for the U.S. president,Donald Trump, after the presentation of the peace plan for Gaza promoted from the White House.
"Of course we live in a divided world. We support peace. We have seen President Trump sign that agreement, FIFA's greatest support for the president, because we all have to support peace. People trust FIFA, they trust the host countries. America is going to welcome the world," Infantino stated.
