Historic Assembly at Talleres to ensure continuity for Fassi's project

'We are willing to consolidate what is being done well and to change what we need to improve,' stated the Albiazul president

The Assembly of Members of the Club Atlético Talleres presented impressive figures for the 2024 fiscal year: positive result of $13.196 billion and operating surplus of $15.056 billion.

In addition, the modernization of the Statute was approved, which will make it possible to provide continuity and solidity to the management of president, Andrés Fassi.

Among other statements, Fassi said that "10 years have passed, 11 financial statements that fill us with pride" and that the current one "is a moment of great maturity. Diversity is good news for Talleres as an institution."

He also stated that "this is a project that still has a long way to go", and that Talleres is "one of the most organized clubs in Argentine football."

"We have experienced these years with great successes, but also with several mistakes," the president also said.

The agenda items at Sunday's Assembly of Members:

  1. Appointment of three members to sign the minutes of the assembly, in addition to the president, general secretary, and secretary of minutes of the institution.
  2. Reasons why the assembly is being held out of term
  3. Presentation of the balance sheet and report, corresponding to the fiscal year from January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2024.
  4. Budget for the 2025 period
  5. Appointment of those responsible according to the requirements of the Professional Football League, Argentine Football Association, and CONMEBOL licenses.
  6. Proposal for the modernization of the Social Statute.

Fassi, who after the modernization of the statute will be able to seek re-election for two more terms, left the following statements:

"Will we ever be able to have 315,000 members? No. Boca and River have 230,000. There is no possibility of having 300,000 members," he pointed out. Today, "T" has 70,000 members.

"The 300 boxes that will be sold every five years, so that Talleres will have a permanent income for life, the more than 60 commercial gastronomic spaces that will allow consumption for those who arrive four hours before the match and can stay long after the match, and the 12,000 parking spaces that will create a circle of permanent income."

"Talleres today means demand, vision, and constant accountability."

"Many things happened to us. At the time, I did not mention them, precisely because I believe there is something above us called Talleres."

"Since that 2014, we set out to ensure that Talleres would no longer be in the news for bad or negative things."

"That's why in times of crisis, we do not go out to give explanations because a coach leaves or due to particular situations with players. Because Talleres is above everything.  I prefer to be the scapegoat rather than have Talleres be harmed."

"This sporting crisis finds us at the best institutional moment in our history."

"We have started to make decisive decisions to change the course this semester. Special thanks to Carlos Tévez and his entire coaching staff."

"Today we are in a historic assembly modernizing the statute that will allow us to provide continuity to a process that began in 2014. It is not about perpetuating ourselves; we have the duty to complete what we started."

"Talleres is above everything."

"Why are challenging years ahead? We dream of doubling the membership base, we talk about completing the Sports City because it is the core of our development model."

"We talk about the stadium as a sense of belonging because La Boutique is already too small for us. The sense of belonging is key to having our second own stadium, but there is also another key factor regarding the responsibility related to the genuine income caused by having our own stadium."

"The great numbers shown in this balance sheet indicate something very important. In the last eight years, 40% of the income was related to player sales."

"Today we have learned from our mistakes. We know that we need to be much more open."

"The Talleres that I came to with more than 500 people, professionals of the highest level that we can have."
