'I'm not interested in the press anymore': Feinmann's strong statement live on the news broadcast

The journalist got fed up live on air with the coverage of Cristina Kirchner's house arrest

A tense moment marked the broadcast of El Noticiero de A24 when Eduardo Feinmann, visibly upset, interrupted the coverage about the judicial situation of Cristina Fernández de Kirchner  and requested live that the topic stop being discussed. The journalist left his place while his colleague Mariel Fitz Patrickwas reporting on the restrictions of the former president's house arrest.

The scene went viral due to Feinmann's forceful tone, who returned to the studio after the report and launched a series of criticisms directed at the show's production.

"I don't care about the convict anymore," Feinmann said after leaving the set

While Fitz Patrick was detailing Cristina's defense objection regarding restricted visits, Feinmann stood up from his chair. As soon as he was back on air, he fired: "Is this Cristina farce over yet?Are you done? That's it.No one cares anymore about what happens with the prisoner, least of all me."

Throughout his statement, the host referred to the former president as "the convict" and questioned the continued display of her home's door: "What are we going to do? Show the convict's house for the next six years? I'm fed up, and people are also tired of criminals like Cristina Fernández de Kirchner."

Feinmann requested to be notified in advance if anything about the topic is going to be covered, and concluded: "I don't want to show the prison anymore, I don't care about the prisoner anymore, I don't care anymore."

Convicted of corruption: the ruling that sealed Cristina's fate

The host's anger did not come out of nowhere. On June 10, the Supreme Court of Justice upheld the six-year prison sentence against Cristina Fernández de Kirchner for the Vialidad case. The ruling confirmed that the former president participated in criminal maneuvers during her administration, which led to her house arrest, which she is currently serving under strict conditions.

Since that date, several media outlets resumed coverage of her legal situation, something Feinmann considers unnecessary. According to what he expressed in his improvised editorial, the focus should already be on other news: "Let's not show that anymore, no one cares anymore."

The journalist ended his intervention with a criticism of what he defined as overexposure: "People are fed up. Let's not show criminals anymore. That's it."
