In the middle of a freeze, he attempted to steal, fled by bike, and jumped into the Suquía in Córdoba: the video
The escape began in Nueva Córdoba and ended in the Suquía River, in the freezing early hours of Monday
An unusual sequence unfolded this Sunday in the city of Córdoba, with subzero temperatures throughout the region. A 30-year-old criminal attempted to steal a motorcycle in Nueva Córdoba and, when discovered, escaped on a bicycle.
The escape ended in the Suquía River, where he jumped in and swam to avoid being captured by the police.
En plena helada, quiso robar, huyó en bici y se tiró al Suquía en Córdoba: el video
The chase began in the city center
The situation began at the intersection of Buenos Aires and Rondeau streets, in the heart of Nueva Córdoba.
There, the 911 cameras recorded how the individual was forcing a parked motorcycle in the middle of the public road. Police officers arrived at the scene, which caused the suspect to begin his escape on a bicycle.

He swam across the Suquía River with subzero temperatures
The escape route was recorded by several cameras, where he is seen crossing the city toward the Alvear Bridge. There, he abandoned the bicycle and, surprisingly, jumped into the Suquía River to swim to the other shore.
All this happened while the city endured temperatures close to zero, during a polar cold wave.

He was arrested in the General Paz neighborhood
The escape continued for a few more minutes, but now without the bicycle, through the streets of the General Paz neighborhood. Finally, the man was intercepted and arrested by officers on Esquiú Street at 700, without resistance.

When identified, it was confirmed that he had previous criminal records. In a city where more and more incidents are carried out by people with a criminal record, the case once again raises alarms about recidivism, the effectiveness of the judicial system, and the need for stronger security policies.
