The IRSA group is moving forward with its expansion strategy in the shopping mall business and has confirmed a new investment for Alto Avellaneda, one of the most iconic shopping centers in the southern Metropolitan Area, which this year is celebrating its 30th anniversary.
The company will allocate over 10 million dollars to expand the complex by 8,000 square meters (86,111 square feet) and add new commercial, entertainment, and service offerings.
One of the main focuses of this renovation is the arrival of MacStation, which will open its first official store in the southern area and its eighth in the country at the shopping mall. The brand-new space, measuring 76 square meters (818 square feet), will offer the entire range of Apple products, including iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, and accessories. The brand aims to strengthen its presence and attract an increasingly broad audience in the local technology market.

“We are very pleased to announce this new opening, which represents another step in our strategic national expansion plan. Each MacStation store is designed to bring the Apple ecosystem closer to more people, with professional and personalized service” said Silvana Niglia, MacStation's Marketing Manager.
In addition to the sales area, the store will feature a Genius Bar, where customers can receive diagnostics, technical assistance, and recommendations to improve the performance of their devices.
The shopping mall's management highlighted that this new chapter comes at a special time for Alto Avellaneda. "Celebrating 30 years of Alto Avellaneda also means celebrating a relationship of trust with our customers and tenants. In this context, we are announcing an expansion plan that includes 8,000 additional square meters (86,111 square feet), which will bring new developments in entertainment and services, something we consider very valuable for those who visit this shopping mall," said Juan Pablo Lombardo, Center Manager of the complex.
"This expansion involves a joint investment of over US$ 10 million. This project not only revitalizes the shopping center but also drives a new stage of growth and leadership to continue strengthening the bond we build day by day with our community," he added.

The shopping mall currently keeps full occupancy and a waiting list of brands interested in joining. In recent months, it has added new openings such as Caro Cuore, Key Biscayne, and Paula Cahen D’Anvers, while other stores have completely renewed their image, including Adidas, Nike, Puma, 47 Street, Levi’s, Prüne, Starbucks, and Isadora. Alto Avellaneda also houses the only Zara store in the entire southern area, a unique feature that helps sustain its visitor flow.
As part of the offerings to be incorporated in the coming years, the shopping mall will inaugurate Maldini Park, a new family entertainment space that will be part of a renewed recreational area. According to the announcement, gastronomic areas and new services will be added, with a first stage scheduled for the first quarter of 2026.
Another new development accompanying this period of transformation is the installation in the shopping mall of the first Flash Mercado Libre point, the platform launched by the e-commerce giant for in-person and digital vehicle buying and selling.
In the context of the anniversary, Alto Avellaneda also announced a three-year growth plan that will allow the incorporation of new international brands and the expansion of wellness and leisure options. Among the future initiatives are a clinic, a vaccination center, a gym, new restaurants, and entertainment experiences that will reinforce its position as a comprehensive shopping center in the region.
