Governor Raúl Jalil held a protocol meeting with the Ambassador of Japan in Argentina, Hoshino Yoshitaka, in a meeting aimed at strengthening cultural, educational, and productive ties between the province and the Asian country.
The conversation, according to official sources, focused on consolidating the joint work carried out in recent years and on planning new lines of bilateral cooperation.
A relationship that grows from cultural exchange
During the meeting, both parties highlighted the role of cultural activities organized jointly, such as the event "Japan in Catamarca," which became a platform for promoting Japanese art, traditions, and gastronomy. The Governor expressed his intention to relaunch that initiative, understanding that these spaces generate integration, strengthen cultural diversity, and bring both communities closer together.
Jalil formally invited Ambassador Hoshino to visit Catamarca —after assuming his post in November— to learn firsthand about the cultural and academic work that has been carried out. According to what he indicated, the provincial government considers it strategic to maintain an active relationship with Japan given its tradition of cooperation, productive innovation, and technological development.
Educational cooperation and institutional opportunities
The meeting also included a review of educational programs related to student exchange, technical training, and coordination between academic institutions in both countries. Provincial sources emphasized that these initiatives help expand mutual knowledge and facilitate Catamarca's integration into international circuits of professional training.
