A CB Consultora survey placed the Argentine president in first place for regional approval in December

A new regional report from CB Consultora Opinión Pública, titled "December 2025 – South American Presidents Ranking", measured the image of the main South American leaders based on a survey conducted with a total of 11,912 people.
The study offers a comparative overview of the levels of approval and disapproval recorded by the heads of state in their respective countries at the close of 2025.
According to the data in the report, Javier Milei is positioned as the president with the best image in all of South America, topping the ranking with a 48.3% positive image among Argentine citizens.
This way, the Argentine leader is placed in the first position in the regional survey, surpassing the rest of his South American counterparts and consolidating himself as the head of state with the highest level of approval on the continent according to this measurement.

The second place in the ranking corresponds to Rodrigo Paz, president of Bolivia, who reaches a 47.6% positive image, while the third place is held by Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, president of Brazil, with 47.1% approval. These three leaders make up the podium of the best-rated presidents in December 2025 by their own citizens.
Further down the table there are other regional leaders with lower approval levels. In the case of Uruguay, the leftist president Yamandú Orsi records a 43.3% positive image and a 54.3% negative image. In Chile, the communist Gabriel Boric obtains a 41.1% positive rating, compared with 55.1% negative, while in Colombia, Gustavo Petro reaches only a 34.9% positive image and 61.4% negative.

Leaders with the lowest positive image
At the bottom end of the ranking are the presidents with the lowest level of approval in their respective countries. Nicolás Maduro, president of Venezuela, occupies the last place in the survey with barely a 24.3% positive image and a 72.1% negative image, which makes him the worst-rated leader in South America according to the CB Consultora report. Ahead of him are Gustavo Petro, from Colombia, and José Jerí, from Peru, who records a 37.2% approval.
The report also analyzes the evolution of the presidential image compared with the previous measurement. In that regard, José Jerí, from Peru, was the head of state who showed the greatest monthly growth, with an increase of +4.7 percentage points in his positive image. In contrast, the largest drop of the month was for Rodrigo Paz, from Bolivia, who experienced a decrease of -4.1 points in his level of approval, despite remaining in second place in the overall ranking.
