Formula 1 is experiencing a new chapter of tension after Lance Stroll, Aston Martin driver, confronted Franco Colapinto over a series of statements the Argentine made after the Grands Prix of Mexico and Brazil, where he strongly questioned the Canadian's behavior on track.
After the race in Mexican territory, Colapinto expressed his visible annoyance: "Stroll pushed me onto the grass. He never looks in the mirrors, I don't know where he's looking. He always does the same thing." The dispute intensified days later, when in São Paulo the Canadian collided with Gabriel Bortoleto on the first lap. Colapinto again targeted the Aston Martin driver and ignited controversy in Europe: "Stroll is always pushing people off the track, he simply doesn't look in the mirrors, he doesn't leave space and sent Gabi (Bortoleto) into the wall."
This Wednesday, when asked by the press, Stroll reacted with evident annoyance. According to the specialized outlet Motorsport, he replied: "I heard about that. I don't know... maybe he's frustrated and angry with life." He then delivered another provocative remark: "I don't know how many points he has in the championship. I can't tell you."

When he was told that Colapinto still hasn't scored any points, the Canadian doubled down: "He has zero points. I don't know... he probably should focus on his own things and try to score some points this year."
To conclude, he left one last direct criticism of the Argentine's performance: "It's not surprising. Maybe he's frustrated with his season and with not being where he wants to be."
Colapinto's response
Trying to ease the tension, Colapinto downplayed the controversy: "I think it was in the heat of the moment after the race." Regarding the incident in Brazil, he added: "The incident with Gabi... I was right behind and I only saw the moment. But, of course, sorry if it affected him. Of course, it was in the heat after the race. Yes, I hope everything is fine between us."

Beyond the conflict, the Argentine also analyzed the team's current situation and his recent performance, highlighting the progress shown in Interlagos: "I think we've improved a lot compared to Mexico and Austin. We've taken important steps in the right direction. So let's see how we are. I'm really looking forward to the weekend."
Additionally, the native of Pilar especially valued his teammate's work: "I think Pierre (Gasly)had an excellent weekend and it was very positive for the team to see the car back in the points. Seeing the car up there again, fighting for good positions, and having the opportunity to compete with our team was very exciting."
Looking ahead to the Las Vegas circuit, Colapinto anticipated a particular challenge: "Las Vegas is very unique compared to previous races we've participated in. This asphalt is very tricky. I'm not expecting anything spectacular. But I think Pierre had a very good weekend here in 2024, so things are looking good."
