The lightest calves once again reached a maximum of 7,000 pesos, a value that they had already recorded in the last auction of 2025 held on December 15. This increase represented a rebound of 4.77% and a rise of 300 pesos.
Meanwhile, calves weighing 150 to 200 kilos (331 to 441 pounds) experienced an increase of 6.77% by recording a rise of 400 pesos and a value of 6,300 pesos. Meanwhile, the heaviest ones held at 5,500 pesos compared to the last auction.

The heaviest young steers rose by 180 pesos, which represented an increase of 3.91% compared to the previous week, and they recorded a maximum of 4,780 pesos. The intermediate category advanced by 20 pesos and the heaviest ones by 100 pesos to reach a ceiling of 4,600 and 4,500 pesos respectively.
On the female side, the heifer climbed by 180 pesos to be traded at 4,780 pesos, while the good cow repeated the 3,300 pesos of the previous auction. The bulls also remained at 3,300 pesos.
"It was a brisk auction, with a smaller quantity in the supply of livestock for consumption. There is a shortage of livestock throughout the area with very strong demand. Rising prices followed the national trend. There were lots of very good quality," summarized Roberto Ulla, from Consignaciones Córdoba.
"Backgrounding is going to remain very strong, there is a shortage of calves, there is a shortage of breeding stock. I believe that calf prices are going to remain firm, especially when the calf crop arrives, we are going to have very significant prices," he analyzed.
