Cristina Kirchner imprisoned: Marcela Feudale defended CFK and clashed with D'Alessandro

The panelist questioned the ruling against the former president, but the lawyer replied with compelling data

The Supreme Court ruling that upheld the conviction of Cristina Fernández de Kirchner triggered a moment of intense tension on LAM. Marcela Feudale, a panelist on the show and aligned with Kirchnerism, expressed outrage at the judicial decision and ended up clashing with attorney Mauricio D’Alessandro, who explained the legal scope of the case.

The Court confirmed the six-year prison sentence and lifetime disqualification for fraudulent administration in the Vialidad case. However, Feudale did not hide her discomfort and fired back: “Don’t you think it’s serious for a judge to go have dinner at a former president’s house when he has a case involving her main opponent?”

Feudale expressed her Kirchnerist stance and D’Alessandro firmly corrected her

D’Alessandro was clear: “I don’t think it’s serious, and I don’t think it affected impartiality.” Far from calming down, Feudale doubled down with irony: “Oh, really? Being friends doesn’t affect impartiality?”

The tension escalated when the panelist tried to delegitimize the Court: “I find the history of the judges’ appointments quite murky,” she stated. She added: “At the last minute with Lijo and García Mansilla, they had to backtrack because it was a scandal.”

The attorney replied with precise facts: “Rosatti was Cristina’s Minister of Justice. If that disqualifies him, then no judge could judge anyone.” He also clarified that his appointment by decree was legal because Congress was not in session.

Feudale’s anger grew when discussing Báez and the unfinished projects

Amid the exchange, Feudale tried to raise another doubt: “So why did the auditor appointed by Iguacel say that all 50 roads were completed?” D’Alessandro’s response was forceful: “That’s false. It’s fake news. The experts debunked it. The roads were not built.”

At another point, when the discussion turned to Lázaro Báez’s enrichment, another panelist challenged her: “Do you deny the fortune Cristina has?” Feudale dodged the issue: “I don’t deny any fortune or anything. I’m talking about irregularities I notice in the process, nothing more.”

Her insistence on defending Cristina was evident, despite the legal arguments presented during the show. The exchange ended without agreement, but with a clear conclusion: Feudale could not accept that the former president had been convicted, and she expressed it vehemently.

Cristina Kirchner received a final conviction for corruption

The Supreme Court rejected the appeals filed by the defense and upheld the sentence against Cristina Kirchner for corruption. The ruling stated that between 2003 and 2015, a scheme was set up to benefit Lázaro Báez through fraudulent bidding, overpricing, and unfinished projects.

“The verdict was based on extensive and solid evidence,” the judges indicated. The former president had denounced political persecution and pointed to a lack of impartiality, but the Court dismissed those arguments as inconsistent.

At 72 years old, the leader can request house arrest due to her age (72 years old), although there is still no decision on that point. The conviction has already caused political and media repercussions, such as the heated exchange in which Feudale tried to downplay the ruling.
