For the final matchday of Group D in the U-17 World Cup, the Argentina National Team crushed a weak Fiji 7-0 and finished at the top with a perfect score. La Albiceleste dominated the match from start to finish and managed to achieve a strong goal difference for the overall leaders' table, which will determine its opponent in the next round.
The match began with total control by La Albiceleste, which had its first great chance in the 9th minute. After a VAR review, the referee awarded a penalty, but goalkeeper Prakash saved Uriel Ojeda's shot, who would get his revenge shortly after. The forward took advantage of a rebound from the goalkeeper himself and opened the scoring with the 1-0.
Far from settling, Argentina quickly extended the lead. After a play in which a penalty on Armando Güner was not awarded, Mateo Martínez connected with a corner kick with a precise touch for the 2-0. Minutes before halftime, Martínez himself completed his brace with a great shot to the right post and left the match practically decided with the partial 3-0.
In the second half, the development was similar: absolute dominance by the Argentine team and an opponent with no answers. Ojeda appeared again in the 57th minute to make it 4-0 and score his second personal goal, becoming the undisputed figure of the match.
