Rumors about a Resident Evil 0 Remake are intensifying. According to leaks, Capcom is also working on Resident Evil Code: Veronica, and the remake of the prequel will not arrive until 2028.

The information comes from Mp1st, which states that the project, known internally as Project Chamber, has been in development for several years and promises significant changes to the original story.

Development details and protagonists

The name Chamber refers to the protagonist Rebecca Chambers. Voice and animation capture began in 2024, with actors such as Jon McLaren, who will play Billy Coen, the other playable character.

The production is supervised by Beyond Capture Studios, which previously worked on Resident Evil 4 Remake and Street Fighter 6.

A more cinematic story

The remake will not be a simple 3D recreation of the original GameCube version or its 2016 remaster. Capcom will take the opportunity to expand and modify the narrative, similar to other modern remakes.

Among the new features, the initial section on the train will have a greater role, including characters who were only briefly mentioned in the original. New events and a mysterious character whom fans will recognize will be added.

Gameplay improvements

The zapping system will allow players to switch between the protagonists to solve puzzles in different locations. In addition, inventory management has been modified, allowing players to exchange items or leave them on the ground as needed.
