King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima accompanied Ariane at her graduation in Italy
The princess received her diploma at UWC Adriatic, while the kings of Spain celebrated Sofía in Wales
King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands traveled to Italy to accompany their youngest daughter, Princess Ariane, at her graduation ceremony. The event was held at UWC Adriatic College, located on the outskirts of Trieste, where the young woman completed her International Baccalaureate.
This event coincided in date with the graduation of Infanta Sofía of Spain, which took place at UWC Atlantic College in Wales. Felipe VI and Queen Letizia also attended the event, accompanying their youngest daughter as she completed her academic stage.
Royal coincidences in the UWC network
Both schools are part of the international United World Colleges (UWC) network, a global educational organization that has gained prestige among European royal families. Two years ago, the royal families of Spain and the Netherlands also shared a double graduation: that of Princess Leonor and Princess Alexia, who studied together at UWC Atlantic College.

King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands was also a student of this educational network, as was Princess Elisabeth of Belgium, heir to the throne. These coincidences strengthen the bond between European royal families through an internationalist educational vision.
Ariane considers her next step
Unlike her sisters Amalia and Alexia, Princess Ariane has not yet confirmed what her next academic destination will be. Everything indicates that she will choose a gap year before starting her university studies, possibly traveling abroad and participating in volunteer programs, just as her older sisters did.
Infanta Sofía has not revealed her future plans after finishing the Baccalaureate either, although she has reportedly already decided not to follow her sister Leonor's military path, according to the Spanish Royal Household.
Thus, while two princesses completed an educational cycle, their respective families proudly celebrated another achievement in their international education.
