A complete twist
The new film will be produced by Sony Pictures Animation, the studio behind Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018) and K-Pop Warriors (2025).
The direction will be handled by Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein. Both directors come from working on Final Destination: Bloodlines (2025), where they continued an established franchise.
The choice of the duo aims to preserve the spirit of the character but with a different visual language.

One of the questions is the role of Tom Hardy, who played Eddie Brock in the live-action versions. There is no official confirmation about his return. It is being evaluated whether he could participate as a voice actor or only as a producer.
What stage the project is in

Sony's strategy is based on the strong performance of its animation division, which achieved international recognition with its previous productions.
The precedent that changes the outlook
The live-action adaptations of Venom were commercially successful but had mixed critical reception. Animation, on the other hand, gave Sony some of its greatest accolades.
With this new approach, the studio seeks to strengthen its universe of Marvel characters outside the traditional MCU.
