The current scenario stands in stark contrast to 2023, when 70% of young people expressed their desire to leave the country

A recent report by consulting firm Casa Tres revealed a significant change in the future outlook among Argentine youth, showing a reversal of the emigration trend that had prevailed in the last decades as a result of the severe economic crisis caused by Kirchnerism.
According to the survey, the number of young people who report considering the possibility of moving abroad has experienced a notable decrease, thanks to the success of the government of Javier Milei.
The causes of this change in social sentiment include the enormous reduction in inflation, the reduction in poverty, and the expectation of future improvements and economic growth in the country.
The Casa Tres study focused on the segment of young people aged 16 to 29 years. The results of the November 2025 measurement showed that the percentage of those considering emigration had dropped to 27%, which represents a considerable decrease compared to the 33% recorded in a previous study conducted in October 2024.

The comparison between the two time periods reveals a consolidation of the group that wishes to remain in the country. In October 2024, 63% of respondents did not consider emigrating, while 33% did and 4% were undecided.
One year later, in November 2025, the proportion of those who declared not considering emigration increased significantly, reaching 70%. In that same measurement, only 27% stated they would consider leaving, and 3% did not know how to respond.
This change in the horizon of expectations among Argentine youth finds a point of contact with the results of another recent Casa Tres survey, related to the legislative elections of October 26.
When inquiring about the main reasons for voting, the most cited reason by voters was "Hope." This data suggests that a positive outlook for the nation's future could be impacting the personal decisions of the population, including the evaluation of remaining in the country.

The contrast with 2023
The current scenario stands in marked contrast to the situation recorded during the last year of the Kirchnerist administration, in 2023, when the intention to emigrate among young people reached alarming levels.
At that time, the Observatorio de Psicología Social Aplicada (OPSA) of the Faculty of Psychology at UBA conducted a survey in the main urban centers, which showed that a large majority of young people expressed their desire to leave the country.
The 2023 report revealed that five out of ten residents of the country's main urban centers stated that they would emigrate if they had the opportunity. This percentage rose even higher when analyzing the group of young people aged 18 to 29 years, where a resounding 70% of respondents answered that they would move abroad. In that context, respondents based their intention on the belief that Argentina "will not be able to emerge from its decline for many years."
The drop in emigration intention from the 70% recorded in 2023 to 27% in November 2025, according to Casa Tres data, puts into perspective the magnitude of the reversal observed in the outlook of Argentine youth under Milei's government.
