TotalEnergies is considering expanding its investment in solar energy in Catamarca
The potential investment was analyzed during a meeting between the company's executives and Governor Raúl Jalil
TotalEnergies, a company specializing in the development and operation of renewable energy assets, expressed its interest in expanding its presence in Catamarca through new photovoltaic solar energy projects.
The potential investment was discussed during a meeting between the company's executives and Governor Raúl Jalil, who was accompanied by the Minister of Energy, Water and Environment, Eduardo Niederle, and the Vice President of EC SAPEM, Eduardo Cusillo.
The meeting took place at Government House and focused on the company's expansion plans in the province, with an emphasis on clean and sustainable electricity generation initiatives.
Amanecer Solar Park, a successful experience
During the meeting, TotalEnergies' representatives detailed the current development of Amanecer Solar Park, located in the Santa María department. This plant has more than 23,500 bifacial solar panels, an installed capacity of 13.6 megawatts peak (MWp), and an estimated generation of 35 GWh per year, enough energy to supply about 12,700 households.
Based on the positive results of this venture, the company reported that it is working on a project portfolio exceeding 300 MW in different localities of Catamarca. All these developments are under evaluation as part of a future investment in clean energy.
Catamarca aims to establish itself as a renewable energy hub
The province is actively working to strengthen its energy infrastructure to support the arrival of investments. The government highlighted the importance of advancing a public-private synergy model aimed at improving the quality of electricity service throughout the jurisdiction.
The arrival of more projects such as Amanecer Solar Park would not only expand the province's energy matrix but would also establish Catamarca as a strategic player in the development of renewable energy at the national level.
