A high-impact accident occurred at the corner of Gauss and Recta Martinolli, a busy area in the north of Córdoba. A Volkswagen Amarok was driving the wrong way on Gauss Avenue in the early morning hours, when it collided head-on with an Audi and violently pushed it aside.
The Audi crashed into a traffic light, which was completely destroyed, and knocked down a streetlight pole. The accident caused significant damage to the public road and to both vehicles involved. The Amarok's driver stated he was "shocked," but did not explain his dangerous maneuver.
According to initial reports, there were no serious injuries, although the material damage was significant. The people involved left before legal responsibilities could be determined.
Urban chaos and traffic disorder in Córdoba
This is not the first time reckless maneuvers have been reported at that intersection, one of the busiest in the northern corridor. Residents of the area have repeatedly reported the lack of controls on Gauss Avenue.
The driver who was going the wrong way was not detained, although the images clearly prove his responsibility in the accident. Police sources reported that no signs of alcohol were found, but further forensic tests are expected. The Amarok also had severe damage to the front.
