As a result, the province is preparing for a long Carnival weekend with very high reservation levels in most tourist destinations.
El Cosquín Rock convoca a multitudes en Córdoba.
According to data submitted by the different municipalities, provincial averages are already around 90% occupancy and the trend is to grow over the weekend.
In the Punilla Valley, the main destinations show very high figures: Capilla del Monte and La Cumbre reach 95% reservations, La Falda is around 90%, Villa Giardino exceeds 92%, and Tanti is around 88%.
Meanwhile, Villa Santa Cruz del Lago is already at 100%, while Villa Carlos Paz shows 90% occupancy overall and 98% in categorized accommodations, driven by the events schedule and its position as the main urban-tourist destination in the valley.
In the Calamuchita Valley, occupancy also anticipates peaks of full capacity: Villa General Belgrano and Santa Rosa de Calamuchita report around 95%, Potrero de Garay averages 90%, Almafuerte exceeds 94%, and Villa Yacanto has already reached 100%.
Impact of cultural and gastronomic programming on tourism
These figures reflect the impact of the weekend's cultural and gastronomic programming, with highly popular offerings throughout the valley.
In Traslasierra, the outlook is equally promising: Nono is around 95%, Las Rabonas reaches 98%, Mina Clavero averages 90%, and San Javier and Yacanto are around 85%. Meanwhile, in Paravachasca, Alta Gracia reports 75% reservations.
"The reservation levels we're seeing are very high in almost the entire province. The trend indicates that we're going to reach full occupancy in many destinations, with tourist traffic that could be around 400,000 visitors. Córdoba is once again showing its strength as a destination for long weekends, with offerings for all audiences," stated Darío Capitani, president of the Córdoba Tourism Agency.
Event schedule that drives tourism demand
The high level of reservations expected for the long Carnival weekend is explained, to a large extent, by the extensive schedule of popular festivals, carnivals, and major events that will unfold throughout Córdoba's territory.
During those days, traditional celebrations will take place, such as the Traditional Piemontese Family Festival in Luque, the Beer Pedestrian Street in Bialet Massé, the Carnivals in Villa Santa Rosa, the National Festival of Song and Poetry in Villa de María, the Sommerfest in Villa General Belgrano, the Dolorense Carnivals in Villa Dolores, the celebrations in the Ansenuza region, and gastronomic and cultural offerings in towns such as Las Rabonas, Agua de Oro, Cintra, Charras, Los Hornillos, and San Carlos Minas, among others.
The main attraction of the weekend will be a new edition of Cosquín Rock, which will take place on February 14 and 15 at the Santa María de Punilla airfield, consolidating Córdoba as the epicenter of the country's major musical events and generating a strong impact on hotel occupancy in Punilla and surrounding areas.
With this combination of high reservation levels, projected tourist inflow, and a diverse schedule of events, Córdoba is on track to experience a long Carnival weekend with record occupancy, reinforcing its position as one of the country's most popular destinations for this summer vacation period.
