The U.S. president linked far-left groups to crime

The murder of Charlie Kirk, a conservative figure and American youth leader, once again puts Antifa, the far-left militant network accused of multiple episodes of violence, at the center of the debate.
The incident took place on September 10 at Utah Valley University and the main suspect is Tyler Robinson, 22 years old, who, after his arrest, was identified as a member of this group.
When asked by the press, Donald Trump was categorical when questioned about a possible investigation: "We'll see. We're going to be announcing, they're already being investigated, they're under a major investigation. Many of the people you'd traditionally say are on the Left."

When asked again whether there are indeed ongoing investigations, the president reiterated: "they're already being investigated".
Antifa, short for "anti-fascist", defines itself as a movement that claims to fight fascism, but has been repeatedly linked to riots, attacks on civilians, police officers, and right-wing political figures. Its violent actions have been documented in various episodes.
In 2017, during the riots in Berkeley, members of the group attacked an eventby Milo Yiannopoulos, causing more than $100,000 in damages and about 200 arrests.
In 2020, in Portland, members of the organization threw Molotov cocktails and projectiles at police forces during joint demonstrations with Black Lives Matter.

More recently, in 2025, conservative students at the University of California, Davis reported physical assaults, theft, and vandalism by activists linked to Antifa.
Kirk's murder adds to this series of episodes that expose the danger of a movement that keeps a presence in various cities in the United States and Europe, where attacks on politicians and infrastructure have also been reported.
The Robinson case once again reinforces the link between the far left and political violence, now in its most extreme form: the murder of one of the most influential conservative youth leaders in the United States.
