The President of the United States announced the launch of 'Mission Genesis,' which is already being described as a 'scientific revolution.'

President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Monday creating "Mission Genesis," an ambitious federal program that aims to boost the scientific and technological leadership of the United States through the advanced use of artificial intelligence (AI). Administration officials compared the initiative to the Apollo Program, highlighting its potential to transform multiple areas of science and industry.

According to senior officials who presented the project to the press, the mission seeks to massively accelerate the pace of scientific discoveries by leveraging the supercomputing capabilities of the Department of Energy (DOE) and its 17 national laboratories. The strategy is based on integrating large sets of federal data with high-performance computing resources and collaboration with private companies.

The executive order instructs the Secretary of Energy, Chris Wright, to create and manage the American Science and Security Platform, the mission's central infrastructure. This system will include supercomputers from the "National Laboratories" and secure cloud computing environments to train large-scale AI models, run complex simulations, and perform advanced inferences.

Additionally, Wright must identify federal facilities capable of conducting AI-driven experimentation and manufacturing, as well as gather datasets from government-funded projects, academic institutions, and approved private partners.

Officials explained that the purpose is to unite the scientific information caused by national laboratories, U.S. universities, and technology companies dedicated to engineering, energy, and innovation.

This integration is expected to enable advances in sectors such as healthcare, energy production, and advanced engineering. Examples mentioned include improvements in protein analysis, plasma modeling for nuclear fusion, and automated design of scientific experiments, which could reduce research times from years to days or even hours.

The administration emphasized that the mission will strictly respect copyright and intellectual property rights of the materials used. "We will be very careful with the protection of copyright and sensitive information," an official stated, assuring that this commitment will be permanent for the duration of the project.

The Department of Energy has already established new partnerships with major chip manufacturers and computing companies, including Nvidia, Dell, AMD, and HPE, to strengthen the mission's infrastructure. According to an official, these companies have expressed their immediate willingness to build supercomputing facilities at the National Laboratories.

Project leaders anticipate that "Mission Genesis" will generate unprecedented advances in biomedical research, enabling a more precise understanding of the chemical and biological bases of various diseases and the development of faster and more effective solutions. "The progress of the last five years will be insignificant compared to what we will see in the next five," a senior official stated.

The White House keeps that, thanks to the momentum of AI, the United States is "on the verge of a scientific revolution" that will redefine its global supremacy in research and technology.
