It is due to his actions during his wife's death and his ties to violent far-left groups

The United States Department of Justice initiated an investigation against Becca Good, wife of the deceased extremist Renee Good, regarding her actions during the shooting with federal agents and her ties to far-left groups that have been leading protests against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in recent months.
According to what was reported by The New York Times, “the Department of Justice initiated an investigation to examine the ties between Renee Good and her wife, Becca, and several groups that have been monitoring and protesting against immigration agents in recent weeks”.
The case originated from a violent episode that occurred during a protest, in which Renee Good died after attempting to murder a federal officer. During that incident, Renee attempted to run over an ICE agent, which led to the armed response by the officers. After the incident, Good herself acknowledged her responsibility and stated that it was all “her fault”.

The authorities are now focusing on Becca Good's conduct during the events and on the role that both of them might have played within a broader scheme of far-left activism.
According to the information, Renee and Becca were actively participating in a protest in which Renee placed her vehicle in the middle of the street with the objective of blocking traffic and the ICE operation, while Becca filmed the intentional confrontation between her wife and the federal forces.
After the shooting, Becca Good publicly maintained that she and Renee had “stopped to support our neighbors”. However, the vehicle they were using, a Honda Pilot, was used both as a barricade to obstruct traffic and also as a weapon during the confrontation.

After the death of Renee Good, it became known that both of them had ties to Minnesota ICE Watch, a far-left group that is dedicated to monitoring, harassing, and attacking operations of the federal immigration forces. This group has been present in various tense episodes with ICE agents in the state, especially in the context of the increase in federal efforts to deport illegal immigrants and criminals.
The Department of Justice investigation is also taking place in a broader context, since the state of Minnesota is also being investigated for fraud. In that scheme, members of the Somali immigrant community used companies and nonprofit organizations to obtain state subsidies intended for social services that were never provided. According to estimates, billions of dollars were stolen thanks to a lax oversight system on the part of the Democratic state.
