Leonel "Lolo" Miranda is going through a present far from the lights of professional soccer. At 32 years old and without a club, the midfielder was the protagonist of a video that went viral in the last few hours, in which he is seen selling a gold ring in the middle of a street in Villa Tranquila, Avellaneda, the neighborhood where his mother lives.

In the footage, recorded by an acquaintance who came over to complete the purchase, the former Independiente and Racing player explained that he needed to part with the piece of jewelry in the middle of his current situation. "Right now we are like this, struggling. We are waiting, a ton of offers came in, but well... that they let me play six months anywhere", he is heard saying.

Miranda said that he had the ring made during his time at Academia, one of the most outstanding moments of his career, when he won the Champions Trophy and the International Super Cup in 2022. "I had it made quite a while ago, when I played for Racing. It is terrific", he commented before closing the deal.

After weighing the piece, which came to 12.8 grams, both parties agreed on the price and the midfielder received 1,170 dollars in cash. "Fancy, brother", he said after the weighing, in a cordial scene that ended with a greeting and a farewell.

Miranda's last official match was in late September 2023, wearing the San Telmo jersey in the Primera Nacional. Before that, he had brief spells with Banfield and Tigre, after leaving Racing in 2022. His career also includes stints in MLS with Houston Dynamo, in Mexico with Tijuana and a good spell at Defensa y Justicia, in addition to his debut at Independiente, where he experienced relegation and promotion.

Miranda was once considered a promise of Argentine soccer and built a career with titles and international experience. Today, from his neighborhood and while he waits for an opportunity, he is trying to relaunch his career and step onto a field again.
