Zanetti praised Mastantuono and explained why Inter withdrew from the bid for him.

The vice president of the Italian club, River's rival in the Club World Cup, referred to the young player and his high price

Franco Mastantuono, the 17-year-old young promise shining at Millonario, continues to make an impact in Argentine soccer and attract the attention of Europe's top clubs. His recent free-kick stunner in the Superclásico against Boca intensified the interest of the continent's powerhouses.

In this context, Javier Zanetti, Argentine soccer legend and current vice president of Inter Milan, praised the young player. "He's a player any team would want to have, River is doing a great job and I don't know how long they'll enjoy him," highlighted the former captain of the Argentina National Team.

However, Zanetti acknowledged that, for the moment, signing him would be economically challenging. "For Inter, he's expensive for his age. The time will come to sit down and plan the next season," he argued.

Currently, the midfielder's release clause is 45 million euros, a figure that rises to 50 million if an offer arrives in the last ten days of the market. Additionally,  River confirmed that the player will remain at the club at least until the end of the year, bringing peace to the fans who want to continue enjoying his talent in local soccer.

On June 26, River will face Pupi's team in Seattle, for the third matchday of Group E of the Club World Cup, a key opportunity for Mastantuono to showcase his level on an international stage. Meanwhile, giants like Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester United, and Paris Saint-Germain are closely following his projection.

Jorge Brito's response to Zanetti's remarks

In a conversation with ESPN, River's top president replied to Pupi. "I know Javier very well, and I know his soccer taste. I believe that in some way Franco is a player that suits all kinds of soccer tastes," he commented.

He also added: "The important thing is to stay calm, understand that he's 17 years old and neither he nor River is in a hurry. The best thing to do when something is in full growth is to let it keep growing, and not touch anything. We must be careful and  not put more pressure on him than he already has."
