The National Electoral Debate Committee is in the process of defining the thematic axes for the crucial presidential debate between Daniel Noboa and Luisa González, scheduled for March 23, 2025. This meeting will be essential for Ecuadorian voters to contrast the proposals of both candidates ahead of the second electoral round.
María Gabriela Castro, a committee member, has announced that the thematic axes will be presented on March 17, 2025, highlighting the challenge of "summarizing the country's urgencies". The debate will address five themes, two more than in the previous meeting, reflecting the complexity of the challenges facing Ecuador.
Noboa seeks to continue the policies implemented during his brief but effective term, especially in terms of security and economic reactivation. His administration has achieved a significant reduction in violence and laid the foundations for sustainable growth, moving away from economic models that have proven ineffective in the past.

In contrast, González represents the return of the so-called "Citizen Revolution," a political project questioned for its negative economic results and accusations of systemic corruption. Her platform evokes policies that once led the country to a fiscal and security crisis, from which Ecuador is still struggling to fully recover.
