Within the set of recently declassified documents by the United States regarding UFOs, it is claimed that during World War II, Nazi Germany developed aircraft shaped like "flying saucers", capable of taking off vertically, remaining suspended in the air, and performing inexplicable maneuvers.
The material, released as part of the transparency policy promoted by President Donald Trump, includes reports dated June 8, 1967 prepared by the FBI office in Miami and sent to Washington for analysis.
At the center of the documents is the testimony of Paul L. Peyrer, who claimed to have been part of a secret German program. He stated that in 1943 he saw in the Black Forest of Austria a craft about 15 meters in diameter with a top dome, equipped with several jet engines.

Peyerl described that the device had the ability to ascend vertically, move laterally, remain stationary in the air, and then accelerate to speeds of up to 1,500 miles per hour (over 2,400 km/h), reaching altitudes of 40,000 feet.
He also claimed that the structure included a central vertical engine and six additional engines distributed around the perimeter, while the outer part rotated around the dome.
According to his account, this aircraft was part of a secret program designed by German scientists to be used against the Allied forces in the final stage of the war.
The documents also indicate that Peyerl claimed to have piloted one of these devices before being shot down by British forces in France on January 10, 1945. After being captured, he reportedly remained detained until the end of the conflict and subsequently emigrated to the United States.

The report itself indicates that Peyerl contacted the FBI in 1957, after unsuccessfully attempting to reach out to the CIA to share his knowledge. Additionally, he is described as a former member of the Luftwaffe officer training in Vienna.
An internal memorandum characterized him as “genuinely concerned” about the possible existence of this type of technology since 1944. Due to the growing public interest in UFOs in the 1960s, the information was forwarded to the U.S. Air Force.
While the files support all these claims, they also note that they are statements provided by Peyerl himself. In this regard, the FBI clarified that the documents do not include conclusions or official validations.
Despite this, the content revitalizes theories linking UFO sightings to secret technological developments by Nazi Germany during World War II.
